This page would contain both a sign-in box for registered users and a form to register user details with the library.  It would collect data such as:

• Name
• Email address
• Username
• Password
• Registration for the email newsletter

This will enable the user to access online services, such as requesting books, and managing their account, such as renewing items. Users can also register for reminders by email or text message (if they consent to providing telephone details) when their items are due to be returned.

It will also contain the terms and conditions of the registration and how the library will use the data collected about each individual, in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998).
