About Us

Mount Pleasant Library is a small independent library providing a valuable service for local residents.  More information about our on-site library facilities can be found here.

Our Mission: is to provide the rural population of Dolgellau with free access to information and provide a friendly environment at the heart of the local community.

Specialising in local Welsh history and genealogy, Mt Pleasant Library can provide a wealth of useful information for history projects and personal family history research.  We have detailed diaries and records from the 17th and 18th century alongside a great collection of local photographs and illustrations.

We also have access to catalogues and records at other libraries in the area, and with the National Library of Wales only an hour away at Aberystwyth, this can prove a very valuable resource for research.
